Evolution MotorSports in Conjunction with EVOMSit
Introduce TUNEit - OBDII Port Flashing for Porsche
Intelligent Tuning... Redefined. TUNEit - OBDII Port Flashing for Porsche vehicles is a new and seamless way to deliver our world renowned Porsche Performance engine software calibrations to the end consumer / enthusiast. Our proprietary performance software can be installed anywhere by anyone at anytime using our new hardware interface and software suite. In years past, our performance software was only available either for download at a select number of trusted tuning facilities, or via removing the engine control unit (ECU) and shipping it to an authorized dealer or EVOMS to be tuned. Those days are now behind us with the introduction of TUNEit - a collaboration effort between Evolution MotorSports and EVOMSit.
What is TUNEit and how does it work? The TUNEit OBDII port flashing system consists of all the needed hardware and software components to seamlessly read and write from/to your vehicle's ECU. The included USB drive contains the TUNEit software suite which gets loaded to a laptop running Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8 OS (not compatible with MAC iOS). After installation, the software suite communicates with our TUNEit OBDII port hardware device through a USB cable connected to a laptop. Once the TUNEit device is connected to the OBDII port in the vehicle and to a laptop, the TUNEit software suite seamlessly reads out the original software calibration from the vehicle's ECU.
After the OEM ECU data is read out, the stock calibration is sent via email to our software engineers. The data is used to create a custom software calibration for your vehicle based upon your vehicle's original software data, your vehicle's engine hardware upgrades, your driving style, fuel quality and any additional information provided to us in the performance vehicle questionnaire. This specific information allows us to create the ultimate performance software for your vehicle.
Once our software engineers have created the optimized performance software calibration for your vehicle, it is returned to you via email. The same process used to read the vehicle's ECU is now used to write the new performance software to your vehicle's ECU. After the performance software is installed into your vehicle, you can enjoy the many added benefits of our custom created performance software.

Proven Performance - Proven Track Record. What makes Evolution MotorSports and EVOMSit Performance Software in a league of its own? Each one of our software calibrations is based on decades of experience tuning thousands of different ECUs for race and street vehicles which all share some common ECU technology. Our broad tuning spectrum and proven technologies in our world record holding vehicles helps keep us pushing the limits while staying on the cutting edge of software technologies. We have developed software for vehicles including:
Porsche |
Lamborghini |
Bentley |
BMW |
Audi |
Alfa Romero |
Ferrari |
McLaren |
Bugatti |
Mercedes |
VW |
Maserati |
Creating software for a diverse range of vehicles allows us to understand a broad spectrum of OEM software tuning strategies. Each ECU type/software calibration approaches the engine functions in different ways. Learning the different software "languages" and tuning strategies helps us to look at different ways to firther improve upon the engine functions and maximize performance. Additionally, because most all of the vehicles we tune share some common ECU technologies, we can take information we learn from tuning one ECU and integrate these modifications into another ECU.
EVOMSit does not take the "one size fits all" approach to our software tuning. We create software based specifically on the vehicles hardware components as well as over 20 different criteria that are specific to the driver and their driving style. This is a critical element to make sure our software is going to "fit" properly for both the driver and vehicle. There are many different parameters in the software that are fine tuned to meet each customer's specific driving style and performance goals.
EVOMSit software calibrations are developed, tuned and refined on our state of the art, in-house, all-wheel-drive dyno cell, on the street, and on the racetrack. Dyno tuning is a very small portion of our whole tuning process. The dyno can only give a very small snapshot of the vehicles power "potential" and we spend only about 10% of our overall tuning time on the dyno. The other 90% of our tuning is done on the street and on the track. Driving the car in "real world" conditions is the only way that we can ensure the overall power delivery is smooth and the drivability is properly suitable for normal driving as well as WOT (wide open throttle) driving. The transition from the part throttle to WOT is very important as well as ensuring that when shifting through the gears the power is delivered seamlessly.
Dyno power is not a great way to measure the power potential of a vehicle. It only shows a VERY SMALL snapshot of an "unrealistic"power sweep from 2,000 RPM to redline. Let's face it, how many drivers go on the highway and put their cars in 4th gear at 2,000 RPM and run to redline? Most customers who drive on the street or track will NEVER drive their car like the dyno test simulates. We drive our cars in traffic, on the highway or race track where we are accelerating from 4,000 RPM to redline, then shift and run to redline again.
On the race track, power delivery, throttle response/throttle modulation is a key element to having a car that is controllable and quick around the circuit. There is no realistic dyno simulation test that can measure how a car will perform in "real world" conditions which is why we do not use dyno results as the only way to measure a vehicle's performance capability. We have seen many instances where one of our tuned cars will make less dyno power than another modified vehicle and after the ink dries on the dyno sheet, these same two vehicles on the street have very different results. It is very easy to tune a car to make a peak dyno number, but that is not what makes a vehicle perform when it is on the street or track in real world driving conditions.
Some cars are tuned to "feel fast" and others are tuned to be fast. This is another misconception about engine power and power delivery. Torque is the initial sensation that the driver feels when accelerating their car at WOT. Sometimes a car that "feels faster" due to this initial TQ surge will produce less average overall HP/TQ over the entire RPM sweep to redline. We can tune the ECU to "feel fast," however our software is calibrated to be faster and produce more average HP/TQ under the curve. With our software, the power delivery is smoother, more linear, more controllable, and accelerates quicker. Experience the Intelligent Tuning Difference
